"Yosemite," a new generation of operating systems for Macintosh, and the next iOS8 mobile software for iPad, iPhone and iPod were presented to the 6000 participants of the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), the largest gathering of application developers, which is held until Friday in San Francisco.
Among the novelties presented, there was a platform named "Health Kit" and an application called "Health", which have attracted attention.
The application "Health "can collect data on blood pressure, heart rate and statistics on diet and sports. It's an application already seen, but Apple stands out thanks to the "Health Kit."
This tool was introduced as a control center which collects and stores all data of the downloaded applications about form and fitness. Pooled data obtained in these applications form a sum that will permit to have an optimal use of each application. Thus, applications connected by bracelets (NikeFuel for example) can extract indicators on your sleep or your diet, in order to develop a custom profile and help you improve your athletic performance. In addition, this tool can also send alerts to the doctor in case of problems.
All these data will be linked to public and private hospitals partners who will monitor your activity. A program that should not be free, with no business outside the United States for now.
Therefore, the obvious questions of protection of personal data will come into account. Especially because the connected health wouldn't be completes without a connected object to support these applications.
A tool such as the iWatch could be the Apple's next presentation. But if the self quantified market seems booming proposed objects do not seem to fully satisfy consumers. A study of Endeavor Partners showed that a third of American owners of connected bracelets abandoned them after 6 months.
