The arrival of Google glass brings with it a revolution, a hope for people with Parkinson's disease. These glasses could improve the lives of patients.

Recall that Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease that results in progressive loss of autonomy with the appearance of tremors, slowness of movement, stiffness, difficulty writing, talking ...

Glass with Google, patients could maintain a relative independence of the messages would parade before their eyes when they have to swallow their saliva for example, or take their medication.

Researchers at Newcastle University have been testing the strengths of Google glass on some patients aged 46 to 70 years and suffering from Parkinson's.

Ken Booth, an American of 56 years had the chance to test a prototype of Google glass designed to meet certain needs of people with Parkinson's. He delivered his feelings Telegraph newspaper: "It's just fantastic," he exults. The potential for Parkinson's patients like me is unlimited. "When asked what he liked with his glasses, he replies without hesitation: "self-confidence". "When your legs get stuck and stop working and your body is still active, you lean forward and risk falling," he says. The equipment connected to an Internet network to alert caregivers by voice command when needed, such as a fall.

Google improves glass and makes life easier for patients to follow their treatment. "Some drugs are taken every two hours, other meals, others with water," said Lynn Tearse, 46, another worker experience. Glasses glasses send alerts when it's time to take the medication.

These are advanced for the time the state of research. But said it would not be feasible in the near future?
